Cornwall Airport Newquay Announces Dublin 2016 Schedule

The Aer Lingus Regional route between Cornwall Airport Newquay and Dublin Airport will return with a longer season and more frequent flights for 2016.

The route which launched in 2015 will recommence on 14th March 2016 and run until the 2nd January 2017. The route will launch initially with four flights a week (Mon/Thurs/Fri/Sun) with the schedule increasing to 6 flights a week from the end of April and with daily connectivity from early July.

Big on pub culture, quirky museums, seriously good places to eat and a thriving shopping scene, Dublin's got all the key ingredients for a top short break. The flight from Cornwall Airport Newquay takes just 70 minutes.

The new schedule also opens up the possibility for onward connectivity to the USA and with US customs pre-clearance at Dublin Airport this offers fantastic access to the US for the Cornish traveler.

Al Titterington, Managing Director of Cornwall Airport Newquay, said: “The increased schedule is great news for Cornwall. Not only does it open up direct access to Dublin (and onward US connections) for most of the year but it also increases the ease with which both the Irish and the American markets can reach Cornwall, further supporting our vital tourism industry and local economy.

Martin Saxton, Chief Commercial Officer of Stobart Air (who operate the route), said: “We are delighted to be further strengthening the link between Newquay and Dublin, Cornwall’s only direct route to the Republic of Ireland.  The new schedule will offer customers the chance to explore one of Europe’s most popular weekend destinations throughout the year and to sample all Dublin has to offer.

“Cornwall is also a popular destination for the Irish and so we expect to see this route continue to flourish.”

Flights between Newquay and Dublin go on sale this week and start from as little as £24.99 one way including taxes and charges.
