The Isles of Scilly Steamship Company Ltd own the airline Skybus, which began scheduled commercial passenger flights in April 1987. Skybus now has a fleet of six aircraft: three De Havilland DHC-6 Twin Otters (all three aircraft are based at Cornwall Airport Newquay) and three Britten Norman Islanders.
Passenger numbers have continued to grow across all routes and Skybus is expecting to carry in the region of 57,000 passengers this year
Skybus operates regular scheduled flights to the Isles of Scilly from Land’s End, Newquay, Exeter, Bristol and Southampton. Skybus occupies hangar N2 on the North side of the airport, using the building for their passenger operations and line and base maintenance requirements. They employ about 14 staff in maintenance and flight crews at Cornwall Airport Newquay.
