Will BLOODHOUND break the record and be able to set a new World Land Speed Record of 1000mph?
BLOODHOUND Super Sonic Car is the UK’s latest attempt at a land speed record. The brainchild of Richard Noble, the car is being designed and engineered to reach speeds of up to 1000mph, and will attempt to break the record in South Africa in Autumn 2017.
Following a successful rocket test in October 2012 in a Hardened Aircraft Shelter (HAS), BLOODHOUND is back at Aerohub at Cornwall Airport Newquay. Occupying two HAS, the BLOODHOUND team are setting up for a series of rocket and car testing programmes to take place in Spring/Summer 2017.
At the heart of this thrilling project is the desire to create a lasting legacy of excitement towards the Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) fields. The BLOODHOUND team are currently targeting UK schools to inspire and excite young people about STEM, and build the next generation of the UK’s engineering talent.
British science and engineering at its visionary best
